Men's Head Coach Randy Bennett
 
Randy Bennett took over as the head men's basketball coach prior to the 2001-02 season and in five years as the head coach at Saint Mary's College, he's brought the excitement back to the program after leading the Gaels to an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2005. The at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament marked the fourth in the school's history and first since the 1996-97 campaign.

    • Women's Head Coach Paul Thomas
     
    Saint Mary's Director of Athletics Mark Orr announced the hiring of Paul Thomas as the new head women's basketball coach at Saint Mary's College on August 9, 2006. Thomas becomes the eighth head coach in the program's 28-year history. Thomas joins Saint Mary's after serving as head women's coach at Cal Poly Pomona for the past 12 seasons.
